Cooking with your senses – meet food writer and author Sybil Kapoor at Abergavenny Food Festival

15/09/2018 2:30 pm – 15/09/2018 3:30 pm | The Dome (The Castle), Castle St, Abergavenny NP7 5EE
What makes a dish delicious? Multi-sensory cooking has become fashionable in the food world. Everyone loves to look, sniff, touch, taste and listen to ingredients as they cook and eat, but how much do you really understand the power of your five senses? Join Sybil Kapoor, author of Sight Smell Touch Taste Sound, and a panel including columnist and broadcaster Tim Hayward, cook and social media star Elly Curshen, and food and wine writer Fiona Beckett.
During the session, they explore the role of taste, flavour (smell), texture, temperature and appearance in cooking today. They will discuss everything from the importance of aroma in promoting emotional reactions, to whether making slurping sounds enhance your enjoyment of food and certain colours intensify your response to food.
When: Saturday 15th September, 2.30pm to 3.30pm
Where: The Dome (The Castle), Castle St, Abergavenny NP7 5EE
