08/07/2018 10:00 am – 08/07/2018 2:00 pm | Stag & Bow, 8 Dartmouth Rd, Forest Hill, London SE23 3XU

Join Lisa Stickley to learn how to make a flexible fabric book from her new book Makes For Mini Folk , at Stag & Bow on Sunday 8th July at 10am.

Mini folk love to squish, rustle and fiddle with a flexible fabric book, and how nice to make your own. A PERFECT mum to be project for the long days before the mini one arrives and also fabulous for anyone with a crafty twinkle in their eye to make for a new arrival.

You will make 4 double-page book spreads that are then sew together to create an 8-page book, including covers. This project covers a variety of techniques including appliqué, machine stitch, hand sewing & fabric dyeing and can use up all the best fabric bits and bobs you have collected over the years and not quite known what to do with! (Fabric also provided if you don’t have a bits and bobs box).

Designer & Children’s author Lisa Stickley regularly draws on objects and patterns from days gone by for inspiration. She loves things that have been on a journey, have a bit of a history, and finds imperfection extremely endearing. Lisa’s working methods reflect this too. She uses many different processes in her illustration, and finished drawings will have been on a bit of a journey themselves, resulting in a modern piece of work that has a hint of vintage and a drop of quirkiness.
