MOB Kitchen shortlisted for the André Simon Food & Drink Book Awards

MOB Kitchen: Feed 4 or more for under £10, the first cookbook by MOB Kitchen founder Ben Lebus, has been shortlisted in the food category of the prestigious André Simon Food & Drink Books Awards 2018.
Ben Lebus took the social media world by storm with his 1-minute, how-to-make recipe videos. In MOB Kitchen: Feed 4 or more for under £10, he revitalises home-cooking with delicious, easy and accessible dishes that absolutely anyone can cook, all on a budget.
The André Simon Food & Drink Books Awards is now in its 40th year running. The shortlist was selected from more than 150 submissions and showcases the best of contemporary food and drink writing. Judging the award are André Simon Memorial Fund trustees Nicholas Lander (chair), Sarah Jane Evans MW, David Gleave MW and Xanthe Clay. The judges were guided by this year’s independent assessors, chef, food writer and author, Meera Sodha and wine expert and journalist, Victoria Moore.
Nicholas Lander commented: ‘This has been a bumper year for the André Simon awards. The shortlist features established food and drink figures, including Diana Henry and Oz Clarke, alongside first-time authors Ben Lebus and James and Tom Morton. The diverse publications range from a portrait of a pie and mash restaurant in East London to an exquisitely photographed homage to the world’s finest teas. This reflects a vibrant and dynamic food and drink book industry which our awards have been celebrating for 40 years.’
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Goring Hotel in London on 5 February 2019.
