Pavilion Books to publish the first official Harry Potter knitting book

Pavilion Books Publishing Director Katie Cowan has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to the first official Harry Potter knitting book – Harry Potter Knitting Magic – from Erika Bradfield, Director of Foreign Rights at Insight Editions.
The book promises to delight the many millions of Harry Potter fans, offering a deluxe guide to creating over 25 authentic Harry Potter knits based on the iconic films. It includes patterns for clothing, home projects and keepsakes pulled straight from the blockbuster movies, along with behind-the-scenes facts and insights, concept art and film stills. Yarn suggestions are based on the true colours used in the films and projects range from simple patterns like the Hogwarts house scarves to more complex projects like Mrs. Weasley’s Christmas sweater.
Katie Cowan, Publishing Director at Pavilion said: “We’re delighted here at Pavilion to be publishing the first official Harry Potter knitting book and be bringing witchcraft and wizardry to the craft list next spring. We we will all be ‘casting on’ with needles and wands come January! ”
The author of the book, Tanis Gray, has written a number of other knitting books and has over 500 published knitting designs. She has worked for Vogue Knitting, Martha Stewart, and HBO and was a regularly-featured guest on Knitting Daily TV in the US. She commented that she is “downright thrilled” to announce the book, of which she is “incredibly proud”.
