Stuart Hillard and Betty Etiquette at The Handmade Fair

The Handmade Fair is coming to Ragley Hall in Warwickshire 11th–13th May. It’s a great day out with a packed schedule of talks and workshops and lots of stalls offering handmade goods and craft materials. Quilt designer and ‘Sewing Bee’ star Stuart Hillard will be taking on the Super Theatre on the Sunday, chatting all things sewing with Edith Bowman, while Rebecca Cahill Roots of Betty Etiquette runs daily workshops in how to master Brush Lettering.

Adventures in Sewing with Stuart Hillard – Super Theatre

Bestselling author, quilter and TV personality Stuart Hillard takes on the Super Theatre where he will chat with Edith Bowman about his life and sewing career. Known as the maverick star of the first series of ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’, Stuart has since gone on to build a career as a quilt designer and will share his top tips for liberating your fabric scraps and turn them into beautiful quilts. Stuart will be signing copies of his new book Use Scraps, Sew Blocks, Make 100 Quilts in the Mollie Makes Café after the session.

Brush Lettering and Blending with Betty Etiquette – Skills Workshop

Join Rebecca Cahill Roots of Betty Etiquette and author of Modern Lettering to learn the basics of brush lettering using Tombow ABT brush pens. You’ll experiment with new letterforms, mark making and colour blending before creating your own personalised wall art to take home with you. Each session will be followed by a book signing.
