Frances Spalding presents Virginia Woolf in Words & Pictures

24/01/2018 1:00 pm – 24/01/2018 2:00 pm | Waterstones Gower Street, 82 Gower St, Bloomsbury, London WC1E 6EQ
Virginia Woolf’s letters – at times witty and irreverent, other times melancholy and introspective – reveal not only the depth of her friendships, but the complex personality of the author herself.
“A true letter”, Woolf insisted, “should be like a film of wax pressed close to the graving of the mind.”
Art historian, critic, and author of The Illustrated Letters of Virginia Woolf Frances Spalding will appear at Gower St. Waterstones for an illustrated talk that combines Woolf’s letters with photographs and paintings of Bloomsbury’s artists and writers.
Where: Waterstones Gower Street, 82 Gower St, Bloomsbury, London WC1E 6EQ
When: Wednesday 24th January, 1pm – 2pm
Tickets: £5 (£3 for students) available online or by telephone (020 7636 1577)
